Education

Bachelor of Science in Biology

Stony Brook University, NY

2022 - Today

My college experience has been marked by a commitment to hands-on learning, both inside and outside the classroom. My research work, focused on stroke models, has allowed me to collaborate with distinguished faculty and contribute to meaningful scientific discoveries. Additionally, my involvement in EMS volunteering and shadowing experiences has provided me with practical insights into the medical field, such as the responsibility of having to treat a patient using BLS, as well as having improved my skills in communication and patient interaction, solidifying my dedication to pursuing a career in medicine. The degree I have chosen also allows for taking more science focused classes, which I believe are helpful in preparing me for my professional career. I also founded and currently lead the Beekeepers Club of SBU, where I promote the importance of environmental stewardship and bee conservation through education and different events and fundraisers. I believe that this holistic approach to my college education is crucial in making me a more well-rounded person, as well as preparing me for my future in medicine to be able to treat my future patients correctly.

High School

Saint Francis Preparatory School, Fresh Meadows, NY

2018 - 2022

In high school, at Saint Francis Preparatory School, I maintained a strong academic record with a 4.0 GPA and a 1530/1600 on the SAT. High school was also the time I solidified my interest in medicine. Through rigorous AP science classes I realized that out of all the STEM courses, biology was my favorite. From an early age I had a vested interest in medicine, having a model skeleton as early as 4 years old, which I meticulously would study as I built him up bone by bone and organ by organ. I started learning the basics about the human body from that age and slowly build up my knowledge. In high school I committed solely on medicine and started reading more about the human body. Though my classes covered the biological principles governing life, I wanted to know more about the physiology of the human being. In my free time, I read up on anatomy and physiology and ended up taking an online anatomy college course. I believe that this combination of early hands-on exploration, formal education, and academic excellence in science, as well as my love for biology, shaped my commitment to pursuing a career in medicine.
